Part-time Restaurant Server - Toronto Yorkdale

JOB OVERVIEW: 

Provides prompt and courteous food and beverage service to restaurant and/or lounge guests while maximizing sales and guest satisfaction. 
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Describes all menu items; methods of preparation and prices as needed.
• Accommodates any special requests that the kitchen is able to deliver for the guest.
• Up-sell established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
• Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to established service standards.
• Performs pre- and post-shift side duties; stock service station, makes coffee, etc.
• Receives customer payments and completes invoice transaction; returns any change promptly to guests
• May assist Host/Supervisor with greeting and seating guests; may assist busperson with clearing table and filling glasses.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.  Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.

 Education/ Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations, is preferred. 
   
  Certification and/or License Requirement:
• Smart Serve Certification. 
  

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.

 Other:

• Will be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment.
• May be asked to work overtime. 
• This job requires ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, moving about the restaurant, handling food objects, plates, trays, glasses etc, bending, stooping and kneeling.
