Position: Management Trainee – Food Service Operations

Location: Various locations across Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and Montreal)

Overview:

We invite you to apply to be part of the Compass family upon your graduation.  We are hiring entry level Retail Food Service Management Trainees to learn about the multiple facets of our business.  You will be assigned to one of the sectors and be exposed to all food service operations and production activities, and to gain knowledge of quality control requirements.
Duties:

You will assist the Food Service Director to track and produce reports on weekly inventories, sales revenue, labour and food cost.

The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of food handling and health & safety procedures that comply and adhere to government, Compass and external brand standards.

Your training supervisor will ensure that you have the opportunity to learn how to manage and resolve staffing issues such as selecting, motivating and training associates.

An important component of your training will also include client and customer relationship building.

This is a great opportunity to develop diverse food service management experience, and to develop the appropriate skills and qualifications for higher level management positions within Compass.

Required Qualifications (please only apply if you meet all required qualifications):

• Post secondary Degree or Diploma, preferably in Hospitality, Hotel & Tourism and Food Services Management
• General knowledge of food and catering trends
• Hard working team player
• Excellent organizational, oral and written skills
• People-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Assets:

• Some supervisory experience
• Experience working in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR)
• Knowledge of Point of Sale system
• Bilingual (French and English) will be an asset
